Lisa Bevere: There's Something In The Soil & Water
When I was invited to share my thoughts on Colour and a portion of what it has meant in my life the challenge became capturing the inexpressible with words. I am not even sure I know where to begin...
Perhaps it is best to echo the words of Pastor Bobbie, "There's something in the soil & water..." This "something" I lack words for is what has come from the lovely, cultivated world of Colour for more than 15 years.
You see, given the right environment every seed will do what it is created to do.
It is not a stretch to liken Colour to a greenhouse (hot house) on steroids. From the moment of entry to jubilant godspeed, I feel the ‘seed’ of God’s promise exploding within & without. You can actually see it on the faces of sisters as they lean in to laugh, learn & be enlarged. The heady combination of tears, compassionate solution, music, visuals, welcome, ministry, volunteers, practical advise, goodies, hugs & God-honouring worship & declarations is beyond stunning...it's arresting. In a moment, time is suspended & dreams come to light.

It is like a banquet held in a palatial garden. A haven where all are invited to draw near, open their hearts & discover they belong to a collective sisterhood on earth & family in heaven! There are moments when I am so overwhelmed I can't speak. (When this happens it's best to squeeze the woman next to you.) It is the very reason I attend even if I am not speaking...I need this gathering!
All your people will live right and well,
in permanent possession of the land.
They're the green shoot that I planted,
planted with my own hands to display my glory.
Isaiah 60:21
So lovely ones, join us. Your expression of love has never been so desperately needed. Come to this garden and find rest & purpose so that you & those who journey with you, might flourish!
