It's Believable
It amazes me that when something out of the ordinary takes place people’s normal response is “wow, that’s unbelievable”. In my books, it’s a response that doesn’t reflect the Word of God.
Four months ago my dad was taken to hospital. Shortly after, as a family, we were told that dad had only two days to live. He was diagnosed with having a very rare lymphoma in his brain that was advanced to stage four as a cancer. When the doctors saw the scans of my dad’s brain their response was “we have never seen anything like this”.
We were told that there was nothing that could be done. One of the doctors told us that chemotherapy would just prolong the inevitable. As a family we had a decision to make. To make a decision on the life of my 57-year-old father was the hardest thing we have ever had to do with my brothers. Every ounce of my faith was tested BUT we all decided to believe that as long as dad was still breathing “where there is life there is hope”.
The first chemo treatment was administered and we were told that we would not see much improvement in dad’s condition. Together with my immediate and my church family we bathed the treatment in prayer and to everyone’s surprise, but ours, dad started to respond. Due to his good response, a decision was made by doctors to administer another dose of chemo. We continued to pray, and the second dose became a third dose, and then a fourth and final one. Each dose was bathed in prayer, the Word of God and faith-filled expectation.
A few days ago another brain scan was done on my dad and he was medically declared FREE from all brain cancer. Four months after the first time we were told he had two days to live we received the news we had been believing and trusting God for. When I started telling those in my world the response I got was “that’s unbelievable”, to which I responded “No, THAT’S BELIEVABLE!”
We serve a faithful God who is true to His Word. Let’s take Him at His Word and declare that it is believable and see it work in what seem to be impossible situations in our lives.

Es Creíble
Me sorprende que cuando algo fuera de lo ordinario sucede la respuesta normal de la gente es: "wow, eso es increíble”. En mis registros, esa es una respuesta que no refleja la Palabra de Dios.
Hace cuatro meses mi padre fue llevado al hospital. Poco después, como familia, se nos comunicó que a mi padre solo le quedaban dos días de vida. Fue diagnosticado con un linfoma muy raro en su cerebro que estaba avanzado en la cuarta etapa como cáncer. Cuando los médicos vieron los escáneres del cerebro de mi padre su respuesta fue: "nunca hemos visto nada como esto".
Nos dijeron que no se podía hacer nada. Uno de los doctores nos dijo que la quimioterapia solo prolongaría lo inevitable. Como familia teníamos que tomar una decisión. Tomar una decisión sobre la vida de mi padre de 57 años de edad fue la cosa más difícil que hemos tenido que hacer junto con mis hermanos. Cada porción de mi fe fue probada, PERO todos decidimos creer que hasta que mi padre no dejara de respirar "mientras hay vida, hay esperanza".
Cuando le administraron el primer tratamiento de quimioterapia nos dijeron que no íbamos a ver mucha mejoría en la condición de mi padre. Junto con mi familia cercana y mi familia de la iglesia, cubrimos el tratamiento en oración y para sorpresa de todos, menos la nuestra, papá empezó a responder. Debido a su buena respuesta, los médicos decidieron administrar otra dosis de quimioterapia. Continuamos orando, y la segunda dosis se convirtió en una tercera dosis, y luego una cuarta y última. Cubrimos cada dosis en oración, con la Palabra de Dios y con una esperanza llena de fe.
Hace unos día le hicieron otro escáner cerebral y médicamente nos confirmaron que mi papá no tenía NI RASTRO de cáncer en el cerebro. Después de que pasaran cuatro meses desde la primera vez que se nos dijo que solo le quedaban dos días de vida, recibimos la noticia que habíamos estado esperando, creyendo y confiando en Dios. Cuando se lo empecé a contar a las personas de mi alrededor la respuesta que me dieron fue: "eso es INCREÍBLE”, a lo que yo respondí: "No, ¡ESO ES CREÍBLE!”
Servimos a un Dios bueno que es fiel a su Palabra. Vamos a tomarle la palabra y declarar que es creíble y verlo obrar en lo que parecen ser situaciones imposibles en nuestras vidas.
