Jerry Savelle: Year Of Fulfillment

Hillsong Collected

Starting my year off at Hillsong Church is such an honour, I love coming back here as the congregation of Hillsong are so receptive to the Word of God and the Pastors and staff always make me feel so at home.

Starting my year off at Hillsong Church is such an honour, I love coming back here as the congregation of Hillsong are so receptive to the Word of God and the Pastors and staff always make me feel so at home.

In October of last year the Holy Spirit gave me a word for 2012 and I want to share this with you, “2012 will be a Year of Fulfilment.” He went on to say, “It will be a year for your highest expectations to be fulfilled.”

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it and the more I think about it, the more excited I get. 2012 could be the year in which certain goals, visions or dreams that you have pursued are going to be fulfilled! This could be the year you experience a sense of satisfaction from achieving something that you have been standing for, waiting for and believing for – for a long time.

The Bible declares that everything Jesus did was so “that it might be fulfilled.” (Matthew 1:18-25) In Matthew alone, the phrase, “that it might be fulfilled,” is written nine times! I’m telling you this in the hope that you will begin to realize that when God says something will come to pass then you must not let go of it - it will be fulfilled.

What has God told you? What’s the dream that He has given you? Whatever it is, don’t let go of it. Are you convinced that what you are believing for is from the Holy Ghost?

If yes, then never stop expecting it to come to pass. There is great power in positive expectancy. If God is the one who birthed it in you, then He wants it to be fulfilled. When you “know that you know” that He is the One who caused this expectation to be birthed in you, then in your mind, there is no turning back! The Psalmist wrote, My soul, wait silently for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. Psalm 62:5 (NKJV)

Don’t give up on your dreams. Don’t give up on your vision. Don’t give up on the desire that God has placed inside of you. If it seems like your dream will never come to pass, don’t panic! It’s not over.

Expectancy is all about what you truly believe. And Jesus said According to your faith will it be done to you. (Matthew 9:29) In the New Living Translation it says, it will happen.

Listen to what the Apostle Paul said: For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope… Philippians 1:19-20 (NKJV)

Earnest expectation! What is Paul talking about? The dictionary defines earnest as “an intense and serious state of mind.” Intense is defined as “deeply felt.”

In other words, it’s not just “wishful thinking.” It’s very real to you. It’s so real that you can’t stop thinking about it. You can literally see it happening on the inside of you. You’re inspired by it, you’re energized by it and it motivates you to keep believing it, no matter how long it takes to come to pass.

No matter what anybody else thinks, says or does, you hold fast to what you believe. Make time this week to spend quality time with God. Let Him plant seeds of expectation in you. Write down those expectations and begin applying your faith to see them manifest.

In Him,
Jerry Savelle
