Just Pick One

Hillsong Collected

Been doing a wee series recently with our girls called "small beginnings" ... asking simple questions about what might be hidden in the seemingly small and insignificant. Won't revisit the message but in worship the other Sunday I felt a sense of urgency ... So in response, I want to stir our senses to ... JUST PICK ONE!

Below is a list of apparently all the nations of the earth. According to "Nations Online", 249!!!!
So what's in an alphabetical list of 249 nations? Possibly more than we will ever truly know this side of eternity ... Dreams, potential, history, heartache, seeds of greatness, seeds of solution, people, families, hopes, disappointments, challenges and complexities, poverty and injustice, the list is without doubt endless.

God looks from heaven ... He's got a Google Earth kind of perspective (except He can also see into our very heart and soul). Maybe Google Earth sparked in someones genius cos our heavenly Father wanted us to kinda see the planet as He does. So here's what I'm humbling proposing ... JUST PICK a nation ... any nation ... doesn't have to be romantic or exotic, or the nation you've most wanted to visit ... just any nation, they're all important ... and MAKE IT the object of your prayer, affection and concern for however long you choose. Who (but God alone) knows what might emerge or unfold.

In Psalms 2:7-8. “The Lord said to me, ‘You are my Son. Today I have become your Father.
ONLY ASK, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession
"

So here they are, 249 of them ... and again who knows what might happen if enough of us began to seriously ask. Stranger things have happened throughout time and history ... And God does declare that "His house of worship, will be KNOWN as a House of PRAYER FOR ALL PEOPLE" (Isaiah 56:7). His Word also says that "His eyes search the earth" to see if there are any who understand ... and care enough to stand in the gap for heaven and earth's precious sons and daughters.

"So do with this, dear Lord, what you will" :)

People often ask ‘how did The Sisterhood start?’ To be honest I think it’s been at the core and heart of Colour and our message regarding womanhood since the very beginning.

You've gotta love the mystery, genius and security of our Creator. Unlike the vast majority of us (no offense intended), He feels no need to scrawl his signature upon his daily creations.
