Words With Friends

1.45am ... It seems of late, the night season has become my new strange place of waking thoughts and prayerful moments...
God has a master plan for the Earth. It's ageless and sure and won't disappoint. There are many players on the board ... And like the chess game (which I don't play) there'll be strategic moments of checkmate and victory ... Or like my new found, time-wasting ‘WORDS WITH FRIENDS’ on my (kindly gifted) iPad, there'll be "words" that will suddenly emerge, that will nail the game and have you winning the victory. Words that carry God-given authority. Words of life, that bring life. Words inspired from heaven above, that bring heaven above into the room or conversation. Words prayed for friends, with friends, for unknown friends that we may never meet this side of eternity. Words that issue from the very heart of God - redemptive, healing, grace-filled words.
The infallible Bible (ageless, timeless, enduring, authoritative) says that The Word became flesh and moved into the neighbourhood (John 1). That Living Word was and is Jesus, who came from heaven above to our lost and forlorn neighbourhood, not to condemn nor take from us, but rather to bring life and hope and rescue.
Some don't think they need rescue or life ... that's okay ... but when they do, I pray they won't be too proud or stubborn or isolated to lift their hand or cry for help. I live on a continent surrounded by ocean. A swim in the beautiful waters can quickly turn to tragedy because some people are unaware or disbelieving of dangerous rips lurking beneath the surface. Rips can be navigated but only with wisdom or rescue. Real life is not dissimilar...
But for those of us who do know their natural and spiritual fragility, for those who know the reality of heaven above, can I remind you (at 2.20am on an August morn), that our words and prayers are what will open the heavens over others.
Let's stir up the gifts within and be agents of light, love and hope. Live in the Word and love with the Word and if need be, wage war with the Word. It is described as the very sword that even our beloved Holy Spirit uses (Eph 6). There is a master plan in motion and our confidence rests in the Author, Finisher and Source of this master plan (Heb 12).
And all this because I woke with an image of my ipad screen and letters ... and words churning in my spirit, that our magnificent God has a master plan for the Earth.
2.45am ... Ginger tea now consumed, I might head back to bed ... And decide in the morn if this is worthy enough to send.
