Hillsong College Grad 2010 [PICS + VIDEO]

Hillsong Collected

As we approached graduation it got me thinking about the significant moments that happen in our lives. These are the times when we move from one season to the next, often with a sense of excitement believing for our vision to become a reality. Graduation, for me is one of these moments. I have personally participated in over 20 of them at Hillsong College alone.

I can still remember thousands of faces as they walked across the stage and shook Pastor Brian’s hand and received a certificate that represented a number of years of training. Certificates that, in themselves have little value, but are a reminder of the skills acquired and the knowledge imparted - all designed to launch our graduates into their future.

Graduation is such a powerful moment that I never want our ceremony to be just ordinary. For me, it has to be something memorable that places a stake in spiritual ground that says ‘Great days are ahead no matter what the battle’. I want it to be a time of impartation with great celebration and this year I have to say the team outdid themselves!

The night was full of praise and worship, prayer, inspirational preaching from Pastor Frank Damazio, awards and musical items surrounded by fireworks that made it more like an MTV night. If music awards can celebrate something so well, then we better make sure we have a celebration worthy of what God has done in these peoples lives! I just can’t describe in words what a night it was - if you have never been to one then you’ve missed out! It was a truly spectacular event.

The night concluded with more photo-moments, tears and a sense of awe for our creator God. Many of these graduates are about to get on a plane in the next few days leaving us and returning to their nations with a sense of sadness and excitement with Pastor Brian’s words of ‘the best is yet to come’ ringing in their ears!

I’m so proud of our graduates and full of excitement for the future of The Church. These men and women have such potential and passion for Christ that anything can happen and probably will! I look forward to hearing their stories as they write Acts Chapter 29...

Our 2011 college year has come to an end. It has been such an incredible year! We had our graduation ceremony this month to celebrate all of our students that will be returning home.

The Power Of A Paradigm

I was reminded of the power of paradigm last week while training our College students in leadership.

What, No Abracadabra?

I often wonder how many times I have missed noticing that Jesus is with me until something goes wrong. I have invited Him in but so often I leave him as an observer, not the central part of what's going on in my life.
