A Bus, Curry & Flourishing Sisterhood

Hillsong Collected

Well it's always great to tell a good story and it's also great to read a good story.......so read on:)

On the night of Friday 26th November we gathered from across the whole spectrum of church life from 'petite sisterhood' through to the more 'seasoned' in life to have an amazing night of worship and loving on God together as one. A familiar slogan you might see connected with Sisterhood is "ONE Love, ONE Heart, ONE Sisterhood and this night personified this.

We had some delicious Indian snacks to warm us up as the darkness and cold are starting to creep into our evenings along with a beautiful atmosphere of connection as people came from all over London, Surrey and Kent.

This night marked the beginning of the 2012 Colour Campaign and all the Colour brochures are either in your hands now or very close to being there :) I have to say we're so excited that for the first time this year the brochure has been printed in 4 languages! Russian, French, German and English!!!! This will be an incredible way to reach more of our European sisters than ever before.

If you take a look at this brochure you will notice that it's a bit different to previous ones and in the words of Bobbie:

"This is a 'lite' brochure by intention. I've lived for the day when momentum would allow a more simple format. This year thousands are already registered simply because they wouldn't miss the next chapter."

Friends, if you haven't already, then join with the 1,000's of others who have and registered for Colour 2012 and use the brochure to remind yourself how God wants you to 'flourish and influence in a challenged world'.

London Sisterhood: Hillsong Collected

We chose a few stories of brilliant lives flourishing to share with everyone on the night and what I loved most about these stories was that they were just normal everyday girls/women who had decided to honour God by doing something with what's in their hand. Their stories made it so tangible and doable and real that girls walked away confident that they could do something to make the world a better place. We were all completely undone by the Holy Spirit when Sharlene sang "I was here, I lived, I loved," and confirmed in our hearts that we want our lives to flourish and count for something!

AND the night went on to unveil a little project that the GLOBAL SISTERHOOD are working on together as one.

Leading into Colour 2012, our dream is to raise enough money to buy a bus for Vision Rescue in Mumbai and have enough people to sustain the bus and support the children on the bus with food, education and medical help. This could be a daunting goal but TOGETHER it can happen and in fact after a few short weeks of rolling this project out, the finance for a bus is getting close to reality and the London girls have to date put 68 kids on the bus!!!!! We still have a few more to go to fill the bus in its 4 locations and if you want to join us then go to Change Exchange to find out how you can help.

You girls just continue to blow me away with your generous lives!!!!! and I want to finish with this verse from Hebrews 6 (MSG) "God doesn't miss anything. He knows perfectly well all the love you've shown him by helping needy Christians, and that you keep at it"

The best days for the church lay ahead girlfriends, so looking forward to sharing them with you!

Love to you all,

Cathy xx
