Everyday Girl 'Superstars' [PHOTOS]

Hillsong Collected

Hi Girls! I've often said that this movement of women arising across the earth, is not made up of "superstars" but rather "everyday girls" with a heart to make a difference. There are so many of these stories happening ... this is one. Hope it encourages and inspires you. Together we can make a difference on a number of humanitarian fronts that need attention and response.

Everyday Girl Superstars

"Dear Beautiful Ps Bobbie

I'm not sure if you remember me, I wrote to you that Colour has overtaken Christmas for me...I love it!!
For 5 years now I have gone, been filled with compassion and desire to be part of the solution but no idea how. What could I do??? Then, this year in the Sisterhood session you showed us the Be Her Dignity Facial Reconstruction and my heart melted. Straight away I knew I had to do something. I dreamed of having 10 girlfriends in my lounge room and us raising $300 each. So, I took out my teapot and had a "cuppa" with 2 girlfriends and shared the idea. From that came an event. We planned a high tea. This became a group of 6 girlfriends united in friendship and cause, to be the change. We were blessed with a function room; many local business gave us things to either auction or raffle. The community support was amazing. We even made it in the local Launceston paper twice. I have attached a couple of Pic's for you…140 women, most of who had never heard of Be Her Dignity or Colour were a part of the Sisterhood and together we raised $9105…

Then, I read your blog ‘Kindness Is Never A One Way Street’ and cried...here we were having cups of tea to support these women and there they are having tea to support other women...it is just amazing.

I was at Colour this year with my, then, 6mth old baby girl. I am due with our 2nd miracle on March 8th 2011, and have been quoted that childbirth is the only thing that could keep me away. So all going well me, my 10day old baby and 18mth old will see you in March. I already can’t wait!!!

Thank you again.
Love, Jodie"

People often ask ‘how did The Sisterhood start?’ To be honest I think it’s been at the core and heart of Colour and our message regarding womanhood since the very beginning.
